Belgium introduces a fee for the use of highways for trucks

March 23, 2016
Since April 1, 2016, the Kingdom of Belgium has introduced a toll for the use of highways for trucks weighing more than 3.5 tons. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine (MIU).
Every truck subject to tariffing must be equipped with a "Unit on Board" device, which records the movement of the vehicle and transmits the information to the tariffing center. The vehicle owner will receive a receipt for payment of road usage once a month or once every 14 days.
The UOB device is issued to truck owners in a certified company for free use upon deposit of 135 euros.
