Customs clearance of cargo is the process of customs clearance of export of goods from the country of origin. As part of this procedure, an export declaration is issued and, if necessary, customs duties and taxes are paid.
Customs clearance of goods in Ukraine and other countries
Each country from which exports are made (Ukraine, China and others), regulates the customs clearance process in accordance with local legislation. However, in general, the export procedure includes:
-
Checking the authorization for the export of a particular product.
-
Registration of a full package of necessary documents.
-
Payment of export duties (if any).
It is worth noting that customs clearance of exports and imports are similar in many respects. The difference is that export clearance is carried out in the sending country, while import clearance is carried out in the receiving country. At the same time, the list of documents is almost the same, but the requirements for duties and permits may differ.
How Customs clearance of cargo takes place
After all documents are submitted, a customs export declaration is issued, after which the following steps take place:
🔹 Inspection of the cargo – control for compliance with non-tariff regulation (radiological, phytosanitary control, etc.) is carried out. If such inspections are not required, the corresponding marks are made automatically.
🔹 Submission of the declaration – the export declaration is sent to the customs office.
🔹 Customs inspection – the cargo is inspected and the declaration is finalized.
✅ After all procedures are completed, the shipment is authorized for export.
All documentation can be done remotely, and the key factor of successful customs clearance is the correct preparation of documents. Therefore, it is recommended to contact professional customs brokers to speed up the process.
