Vladimir Groysman, Prime Minister of Ukraine, insists on reforming customs control in Ukraine, and has allocated three months for all activities, because the situation at customs does not suit either him or the entire population of the country.

Approximately 20% from payments of duties goes past the country's budget, into the pockets of corrupt officials. As a result, the Ukrainian budget does not receive about 50 billion hryvnia annually.

Groysman said that there are many people working at Ukrainian customs who are smugglers and bribe-takers. He emphasized that these people take away a normal pension from pensioners, and also do not allow the state to develop its economy.

“The task is absolutely simple - in a maximum of a quarter, in three months, to build a high-quality risk management system, eliminate shadow schemes, ensure high-quality monitoring and provide technical means for customs crossings, build high-quality interaction with the border service and also with other law enforcement agencies,” the Prime Minister said.
