In Ukraine, transport enterprises transported 140.8 million tons of cargo in January-March 2016. Which is 4.1% more than in 2015 for the corresponding period, reports the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

Freight turnover amounted to 72.6 billion tkm, or 104.2% of the volume in January-March 2015. In particular, freight turnover of railway transport decreased by 6.5%, water transport – by 35.3% and aviation – by 5.7%. At the same time, the cargo turnover of pipeline transport increased by 40.9%, and that of automobile transport by 1%.

In January-March 2016, 65.4 million tons of cargo were transported by rail domestically and for export, which is 4.0% more than in January-March 2015. Transportation of timber cargo increased by 2.1%, grain and grinding products - by 4.5%, cement - by 7.4%, coal - by 12.2%, ferrous metals - by 16.6%, oil and petroleum products - by 19.2% , coke – by 20.3%. At the same time, transportation of scrap ferrous metals decreased by 35.6%, construction materials – by 30.3%, chemical and mineral fertilizers – by 2.2%, iron and manganese ore – by 2.1%
